Books by Heather Rand
Heather has written two children’s books. The main character in each book is an animal, living in the Bahamas. These books can easily be read by 7-10 year olds and are enjoyed by the younger ones as well.
The illustrator for both books is Bernadette Chamberlain, an artist from Staniel Cay, Bahamas.
The first book, The Pig That Couldn’t Swim, is about the swimming pigs who live on Big Major Spot, near Staniel Cay, Bahamas.
But, Cecilia doesn’t like the water and hates to get salt water in her snout! So she is the only one of the pigs that can’t swim. Learn how Cecilia solves her problem and becomes the best swimmer, even diving for food!
In the second book, Penny Dives In, we learn more about Cecilia’s friend, Penny, who is a goat. Penny learns to swim even though her family is opposed to her spending time with a pig. But Penny must conquer her fears and dive from a high cliff into deep water in order to save her mother’s life.
The books are available for sale at gift shops throughout the Bahamas or may be ordered by directly contacting the author. They are $10 plus shipping and handling. Contact us about the books.
